Claim your Knowledge Panel

Last checked 23 September 2026Part of the Knowledge Panel and Wikidata guide

You are here for this line in chapter 7 of the book:

☐ Google your brand; claim any Knowledge Panel (if any exist), verify through an official account and check every displayed fact.

Chapter 7, O for Offsite

  1. Search your exact brand name on Google, signed in to a Google account. If a panel appears beside the results, you have one.
  2. At the bottom of the panel (sometimes under About; on mobile, in the menu) choose Claim this knowledge panel.
  3. Verify by signing in to an official profile Google already links to you: your Search Console property, or your official YouTube, X or Facebook account.
  4. Once verified, choose Suggest edits at the top of the panel, then Edit beside the item, and add a supporting link for each change.
  5. Not every panel can be claimed, and Google will not create one on request. It appears when Google is confident about the entity: the rest of this page, and chapter 7, are how you get there.

Not verified, but something is wrong? Use Feedback at the bottom of the panel, pick the wrong fact and suggest the correct one with a source.

You're done when you have the panel claimed and every fact on it checked, or a correction sent through Feedback.
