Chapter 10, C for Credibility
- Open your item on wikidata.org: search your business name; its address ends in a Q number.
- Check each statement (instance of, country, official website, inception, headquarters) against the independent source in its reference. Fix anything wrong with edit.
- Any statement without a reference: add one with + add reference (a reference URL, then retrieved), or remove the statement if nothing independent supports it.
- Check the label, description and aliases still match your current name and what you do.
- Set a quarterly reminder. Anyone can edit an item, and yours feeds the entity data AI systems lean on.
You're done when you have every statement on your item correct and carrying a reference.
